This was my first continuity task that I have done in A level media, hopefully the standard of the video will improve over time. There are certain things that luke, daryl and I need to work on such as:
Match on action
Film makers use 'Match on action' because it is a good way of showing free flowing, seem less movement between places. For example in our continuity task we were we used a man walking towards a door, then showing him walking through the other side. The match on action inside our video needs to be better in certain ways such as it needs to more fluent and continuous to take away from the audience that this is not real and is only people acting.
Eye line match
Film makers use 'Eye line match' for one main reason that is to show what a person is looking at if the object they are looking at is out of the shot. We do this in our continuity task when Luke a female character looks at daryl when he walks into the room that she is in. Our eye line match was to a good standard in our video although at parts it should have been a bit more neat and obvious.
180 degree Rule
'180 degree rule' is used is used by film makers so that the audience viewing the film do not get confused. basically the rule states that the camera is not allowed to pass 180 degree line when the camera is on one side, you can only pass the line if you show the camera passing the line. My group stuck to the 180 degree rule throughout the piece although at one point of the video we need to make sure that the rule is not being violated because it was in the middle and may have gone over the 180 degree line for a little bit.
Master shot
'Master shot' is is mainly used to show and gives the audience where the character and gives the audience an idea of the surrounding area. We do not actually used a master shot in our piece but I thought that I should use it any way. Degree In our piece there is not a part that we can really do a master shot to show everyone where the piece is taking place, although next time I shall be sure to do a master shot if it is needed because similar to this piece it was not.
Shot reverse Shot
Shot reverse shot is mainly used to show when a conversation is about to being and throughout the conversation. This is because the 'shot reverse shot' is used to show what the characters are saying, and also to show there reactions to what the person is saying. That is also why film makers use the 'shot reverse shot' technique. In our continuity task we used 'shot reverse shot' we it is time for luke and daryl to confront each other about luke being pregnant, and end the piece with this technique.
