Q1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

My product has various connotations of normal thriller opening sequences, and also we have different genres of film intertwined with the normal thriller that is a slight hint of comedy and also action which complement each other well. We would hope that our opening sequence reaches out to all social groups, although it is mainly made for those who enjoy thriller ECT and that could be from teenage years to elderly people; it isnt based around one age group. There have been various different thing that I have in my opening sequence that are in other professional opening sequences such as:

Two of our main characters are also male this adds to the cliché women getting kidnapped, we were going to use two women but thought that may look unrealistic. Also we decided in out scene not to use any speech as an opening sequence job is to get the audience to ask question we thought that this may leave them inquisitive as to why we made his choice.

continuing this point we also have the main character doing suspicious thing again raising suspicion as to what they are going to with the thing that they are picking up, this is again another techniques that we have used to try and keep the audience drained into the film and keep them guessing as to what is about to happen.

Our opening sequence is a through and through British film and would have been a very low budget film to make, to the distributors wouldn't have been your big names such as 'Warner Bros' it is something smaller such as 'Maple Pictures'.

This is because British film are norm ally on the smaller scale of the film industry when it come to with the budget made to them because it is mainly liked by the British viewers and our film mimics that property which limits it to smaller distributors. however this does not take away any of the film value as it is still a video of high quality that most people could reach out to if they like this type of film, because it grabs the audience out of their seat and leaves them wanting more.
