The following video is a trailer from the film 'Se7en'. Firstly the film industry use trailer to get people to go the cinema and part with their money to watch their film. A trailer consists of various different things such as a trailer has to have the best parts of the film without giving too much away from the viewer. Also it has to create a sense of interest so that people would want to go and see the film they do this by fast pace shots to gain interest of the viewer.
This is in comparison to an opening sequence of a film. Sometimes an opening sequence can be confused with a trailer of a film but the main difference is that a trailer has to sell the film, where as an opening sequence means that the viewer has already parted with their money so the film has to be interesting enough for the audience to stay and watch the whole film to draw in and absorb the viewers attention, and leave the audience in curiosity of what will happen next. It has 2-3 minutes to set an atmosphere to let the audience know what they are in for.
